Replacing a Hardware NIC

Steps

  1. File a ticket with the labs team
    1. https://redhat.service-now.com/pnt
    2. Click Products and Technology DevOps
    3. Click Can't Find Something?
    4. See screenshot for example:
  2. Once the Labs team replaces the NIC, log into the OS via console smithiXXX and figure out the new MAC address using ifconfig and ethtool tools.
  3. Update the MAC address in the ansible inventory
  4. Update the MAC address in cobbler
  5. Update the MAC address in FOG
  6. Run the dhcp-server role to update DHCP
